Nathaniel Mills - Fine Antique Solid Silver Vinaigrette With Beautifully Pierced Floral Grille - Birmingham 1836 - SOLD

On offer is a fine solid silver vinaigrette, assayed in Birmingham 1836 by renowned and collectable maker Nathaniel Mills. Of rectangular form, with engine turned engraving and a vacant rectangular shape cartouche to the lid. It opens to the front and hinges open to reveal the gilded interior. The grille is intricately pierced and engraved with a floral design and leaf scrolls. The interior is richly gilded and clearly hallmarked as shown. In good condition with both hinges working well.

Dimensions : 34mm x 22mm x 10mm.

On offer is a fine quality, impressive solid silver centrepiece fruit / bread bowl, assayed in Birmingham 1904 by Gorham Manufacturing Co. Finely embossed with floral scrolls to the border and a lobed form base. Hallmarked as shown and overall in good condition with some small dents to the high points of the lobed centre, and general wear to high points. An impressive large example. Prices are negotiable to a point and I can normally reduce prices for combined postage.

119g Unusual Set Of Six Antique Victorian Solid Silver Spoons With Cast Blackamoor Figure Finial - Sheffield 1884 - James Dixon & Sons Ltd - SOLD

On offer is a highly unusual antique set of six solid silver spoons, assayed in Sheffield 1884 by James Dixon & Sons Ltd. Good sturdy examples, with a twist to the handle and an unusual cast finial featuring a "Blackamoor" style figure. You can see from the photo that there appears to be some gilding visible below the head / neck area. Made from a good gauge silver, hallmarked to the reverse and in good antique condition with some surface wear from age and use. An unusual 19th century example.
